I am just writing to congratulate the entire organizing team of the Henley on Todd Regatta. Our family has moved to Alice only recently and partaking in this event as a member of the audience was fantastic. From the ticket counter to the seating stands to the food stalls, not to mention the actual events, everything was fabulous. The joyous environment, the enthusiastic participation and the astounding commentators made the event so fun filled. Organizing an event of such a scale especially with the turbulent prelude over the previous months must have been no easy task. I would like to both congratulate and thank all members of the organizing team for successfully conducting this event yet again. Looking forward to taking part next year not just as an audience member but as a participant. Ashok

A note from the Todd family:

For the 150th anniversary of the Overland Telegraph Line, 100 people were hosted in the VIP marquee.  Most of these people were descendants of Sir Charles Todd who built the overland telegraph line from Port Augusta to Darwin and whom the Todd River is named after.

Mark Todd, who is a direct descendant commented on the event:

"I would like to extend the Todd family’s sincere gratitude to you and the Henley on Todd organising team for providing such an amazing opportunity for the Todd family and our guests at the Henley on Todd in 2022. We have received incredibly positive feedback from all who attended. It was a truly unique opportunity to witness and participate in such an iconic event in the heart of Australia and we cannot thank you enough. Every guest had the opportunity to participate in both team and individual events as they pleased, while simultaneously enjoying a convivial and welcoming atmosphere. A special thanks to the organisers for arranging a tailored event just for us. The race to erect a telegraph line entirely matched our strategic aims of the weekend and was great fun – a real tribute to the organisers for being able to provide such an event right in the middle of a busy race calendar! A once-in-lifetime opportunity enjoyed by all."
